Qualifiying for the
2007 National Yo-Yo Contest Qualification rules have been added for the 2007 National Yo-Yo Contest. These changes impact the 1A Championship Division the most. Starting in 2007, all 1A Championship players must compete and place in a Regional Contest to gain entrance into the 1A Championship Semi-Finals. See the list of players who have pre-qualified. All players who have qualified for the contest still must register for the event. The following divisions are recognized at the Regional contest level for 2007:
The following players seed into the National Contest from each Regional Contest: 1A Regional - Top 5 1A Overall - Top 5 Open - 1st Place If a player changes his or her location of residence during the course of the Regional contests leading to the National Contest, the first Regional Contest the player competed in for that year will be used for the 1A Regional placing. Any subsequent Regional Contests will be considered for 1A Overall placement for qualification. In the event that a Regional Contest is able to hold separate 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A divisions, the top placing player from each division will be seeded into the respective Championship final. Registration for the 1A Division will be limited to players who have qualified by placing in the top 5 of the 1A Regional or 1A Overall in a Regional Contest. Registration for 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A divisions is open to all competitors. No pre-qualification is necessary for 2007. 1A Championship QualificationFor all 1A players, qualification through one of the 9 National Yo-Yo League Regional Contests is required. Please see the registration page for a list of players who have qualified. 2A through 5A QualificationAll 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A players may register and compete. The winner of an 'Open Division' freestyle at a Regional Contest qualifies directly to the finals in the style he or she competed in. If a Regional Contest held 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A divisions, the winner of each one of those divisions (regardless of residence) qualifies directly to the National Finals in that division. |
