2009 National Yo-Yo Contest
   

 Qualification for the 2009 National Yo-Yo Contest

New qualification standards are in place for the 2009 National Yo-Yo Contest.

All competitors in the Championship Divisions must qualify for the National Contest by competing in and placing well in an official National Yo-Yo League Regional Contest.

Here are the details for 2009:

1A: 1st through 5th place from the Region, plus any competitor who places in the top 5 overall.
1st place from the Region qualifies directly to the 3-minute finals.

2A: 1st through 3rd place from the Region, plus any competitor who places in the top 5 overall.
1st place Overall qualifies directly to the 3-minute finals.

3A: 1st through 3rd place from the Region, plus any competitor who places in the top 5 overall.
1st place Overall qualifies directly to the 3-minute finals.

4A: 1st through 3rd place from the Region, plus any competitor who places in the top 5 overall.
1st place Overall qualifies directly to the 3-minute finals.

5A: 1st through 3rd place from the Region, plus any competitor who places in the top 5 overall.
1st place Overall qualifies directly to the 3-minute finals.

*These placements are intended for US citizens or full-time residents.

*If a competitor was unable to compete in a regional event but feels they are qualified to compete at the National level, they can petition the National Yo-Yo Contest for entry by writing a letter stating why they were unable to compete in a Regional Contest and include a contest resumé.
